Green tea has been widely associated with weight loss and according to research, this association is on point. Green tea is rich in flavonols (antioxidants) known as catechins, which increase thermogenesis and fat oxidation.
Studies show that 600mg of catechins daily (preferably EGCG) combined with 40mg of caffeine, significantly increased fat loss in healthy adults.
Also, serum fasting triglycerides were reduced when catechins were used in comparison to placebo. A significant difference was clear after 12 weeks of the subjects consuming caffeine+catechins daily.
